What picture and shelf hanging in Darien usually involves
The typical Darien home is around 1957, so walls are a mix of plaster and drywall. We find out which before anything heavy goes up.
Darien has about 5,908 owner-occupied homes, with the median one around $1.73 million. It is a smaller town, so we tend to group jobs there into the same run - worth asking about a day that suits us both. With a median resident age of 39.7, most picture and shelf hanging bookings here come from people who could do it themselves and would rather spend the Saturday another way.
Housing age from the US Census American Community Survey, 5-year estimates 2023 - about 5,908 owner-occupied homes in Darien.

Picture & shelf hanging in Darien: common questions
How much does picture and shelf hanging cost in Darien?
A typical job comes to $145-$165, including your pro's trip to Darien. That covers about an hour of work for one pro. Bigger jobs are priced up front when you tell us what is there.
Does it cost more on a weekend or at short notice?
Weekends come to $160-$185, and anything needed within 48 hours $170-$195, because those slots cost our pros more. A weekday booked a few days out is the cheapest way to do it.
How do I pay?
A $25 deposit by card holds your slot and is refundable up to 24 hours before. The rest - $120-$140 on a typical job - is paid to your pro when the work is done. Nothing is added on top.
Can I get other jobs done on the same visit?
Yes. Picture & shelf hanging and TV mounting together come to $295-$340 - $35 less than booking them separately, because your pro only makes the trip once.
Do I need to buy anything first?
Only if you want to choose it yourself. If you do not have hooks & wall anchors, your pro picks it up on the way - billed at cost, usually $10-$25 - and the short detour is shown in your quote.
